Easy Weather Drawings

10 drawings from the Sky & Weather path in Paper Coach, easiest first, each one line at a time on paper.

Start with a sun made of a circle and rays, then a cloud and a lightning bolt. Each drawing after that reuses those simple shapes, so a rain cloud, a volcano and a tornado come together one line at a time. The last drawing puts a whole storm over the mountains.

Questions

Which weather drawing should a beginner start with?

Start with the sun. It is one circle with short rays around it, so it is hard to get wrong. Then try the cloud and the lightning bolt, the other two easiest drawings.

How can I draw these with my child?

Sit side by side, each with your own paper, and do the same step together. Let your child draw the big shape first, like the sun's circle. Look at both drawings at the end, not during.

Why draw them in this order?

Later drawings reuse earlier shapes. The rain cloud starts from a cloud, and the mountain storm brings mountains and a storm into one scene. In order, each new drawing asks for only a little more.
